Family Reading Night

Family reading night is a special evening program that was implemented in the 1998 - 1999 school year. It is an opportunity for parents and their children to come to school one or two nights per week to:
  1. Read together
  2. Talk about books
  3. Take Accelerated Reader tests

Perhaps more importantly, it's a chance to have fun and invest some quality time in your children, and in their education here at R.R. Moton.

Family Reading Night will be held in the school library media center on Tuesday and Thursday nights.

Here are some advantages of Family Reading Night:

  1. A flexible program
  2. You are welcome to come and go at your own convenience
  3. Media Specialist will be on hand to assist you
  4. There is no need to commit to every week
  5. Students have greater opportunities to increase their reading skills
  6. Weekly book drawings

When you demonstrate that reading is an important activity in your life, it goes a long way to instilling a love of reading in your child. Please plan to drop in on Family Reading Night.

Each child must be accompanied by their parent(s).
