R. R. Moton has been a proud member of the Miami-Dade County Public
School system for over 46 years and a Performing Arts Magnet School
since 1983. Though completely destroyed in 1992 by hurricane Andrew,
R.R. Moton was reconstructed and reopened its State of the Art facility
in 1997 as a Pre-K through 5 grade school.
In addition to our fine academic history, a Creative Arts Program is offered to
first and second grade students. Selected third, fourth and fifth grade students
participate in our Expressive Arts Program selecting either Drama, Dance, Music,
or Art. Students accepted from designated target schools are provided
transportation by Dade County Public School bus. A Full/Student Services
Facility is on campus . A Gifted Program, Exceptional Student Program, Academic
Excellence Program, Artist-In-Residence Program, and Youth Entrepreneur Program
are some of the additional offerings at R.R. Moton Elementary.
Our
students have many opportunities to participate in Teaching Enrichment
Activities to Minorities, Future Teachers of America, Science Fairs,
Math Bowl, School News Team, Young Authors and Storytellers,
multicultural Fairs, and exciting Field Trips. One of our hallmarks is
strong parent and community involvement.

KNOW YOUR LEGISLATORS
As we start the
2009-2010 school year, state funding for education has become
even more critical. As Teachers, Staff, Students, and Parents,
we are the "Stakeholders" of that which will become
the future. We can not do this without the proper support from
our elected officials. Please take the time to make them aware
of your concerns.
If you do not know your
legislators, you can find out who represents your school’s
community at the links provided below. All you need to
know is your school’s zip code.
